Here are a few images in various contexts. I also added an image of a goedendag
and one of the Hussite Wagenburg.

Hi Roger! I have ALMOST all of those images compiled, but most of them are not nearly as Hi-Res.
I have always wondered where you get these from. I see that three of the images
are copies of original paintings by Peter Bruegel the Elder, also known as 'Peasant Bruegel'
because of his focus on farmers and villagers. I think I can find some images of the original
color paintings but they won't be as huge.

When I have a moment this evening I will add some other Flail images that I've
found that haven't been listed yet.

Hi Kevin. Thank you for you very kind words. I'm laughing to myself because
the video you posted as an example is probably my worst piece. It is all mixed up
because of a translation error concerning some left and right footwork. I've been wanting
to make an updated clip of this very page now that I know what it should
really look like. Hopefully soon!

Some interesting things happening here: A huge cannon, a hand gonne couched on a small shield with a bouche for the barrel to rest,
two very large pavises of interesting construction, various goedendag and flails...
I think the soldiers in the lower right corner are Hussites based upon the Chalice painted on the pavise.

This guy looks like he's standing on 'Zornhut'.

According to the Medieval agricultural calendar, the zodiac sign for August is the Flail.
Oddly enough, my Birthday is in August too. :)

Here's some relatively modern images of people threshing in the field.

This might be beyond the scope of the HROARR forum, but I find it interesting that Medieval Korea
used the Flail to a great extent, on foot as well as horseback!

Nice! All excellent images, thanks James, that second one is rewarding for me, the
5 Landsknechts by Breugel. The Man on the right is holding his Flail, resting on his Shoulder
and his other hand is thrown up, in a gesture, a similar portrait appears in the second and later
federfechter Coat of Arms, this was a common gesture, i wonder what it meant? It looks like he's saying
"C'mon, back if you want some more". WOW man, great images.
