Interesting. However, I wonder about those one-hand-techniques. I don't think hey are possible if you would use heavy staff (unless you are really strong). Perhaps they were possible to perform if the spears where made of bamboo (which I guess was not uncommon in ancient China).

Actually, I find much of what is in the clip quite reasonable, including the one handed techniques, apart from holding it straight with one hand that is. The key is speed and momentum where you pull back instantly if you miss, or use gravity to either pull back in "hengetort" or let it fall diagonally and strike single-handedly from the opposite side. Of course if you connect with the thrust, then gravity is no problem.

Several things in this clip is highly similar to Meyer Stucke 24-27, with the difference that Meyer likes to follow up with long circular one-handed strikes. Stucke 25 (I think) even has a one-handed thrust.

Yep, it strikes me as pretty familiar, even the recovery from the one handed circular strikes looks just like that, imho. Meyer prefers keeping both hands on the haft, but when they get as near to the butt as you need for a deep thrust, as Roger said, you must use speed and momentum to recover quick. It is just slightly better than with a one handed thrust, but just a bit.
