Wow! That is truly fantastic! But it is hard to know how well researched their props were. They were fighting with Kolben clubs according to the Franconian tradition. Their clubs seem to be shaped like stout rectangles while I always thought they were something closer to tapered diamonds judging by their various representations in the manuals. I also think the shields would be larger and heavier. The shields are meant to rest with one of their spikes on the ground and rotate like a weather vane. These smaller shields in the video are held in the air and seem to be maneuvered all over the place. But hey, I still have to give lots of props to these original researchers who were trying to bring back the old ways before my parents were even a twinkle in my grandparents' eyes!

That's awesome! Too bad it didn't take off back then. I think they must've had the maces like that for safety or something?
